Name: Alexandra “Lex” Arnold
Age & Birthday: 15, July 3rd
Bloodline: Half blood
Year: 5
House: Ravenclaw
Personality: Lex, as they call her, is pretty much a standard Ravenclaw. When it comes to subjects which require efficiency, focus and precision she usually excels with ease. But when she’s facing something that requires more than just cold numbers (like care for magical creatures, or divination), she’s usually at a loss.
In times of need Ravenclaws can count on her. Additionally, she’s also rather popular in Ravenclaw, but also with some of the boys from Hufflepuff (the ironic part of this is, that Lex has never been parading her butt around like some of the other girls sometimes tend to do it, in order to get the attention of the boys.)
Lex loves Quidditch and visits even the games at Hogwarts that don’t include the Ravenclaw team.
Height: 5’6”
Hair: blonde
Eyes: blue
General Appearance: Lex usually keeps her hair long and either wears it open or in a pony tail. At school she wears her Ravenclaw uniform, of course, but outside of school hours one can easily see her in more comfortable clothing. Since she’s an avid supporter of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team she also has a matching set of clothes fitting for the games.
Wand: 13”, oak with dragon heartstring
Pet:
Worst Class(es): Care for Magical Creatures, Divination, Herbology
Best Class(es): Potions, Arithamncy, Charms
Special Ability: none
Special Item: none
Special Position: none
History:
Lex was born in London, however, right from the very first moment she was a half blood, and not just in the context of the magic world. No, Lex was not just the daughter of a witch and a muggle, but also a mixture of America and England. But how would an English witch end up with an American muggle? That was one of the many mysteries and miracles of life. Whatever the reason, Lex’s mother Penelope ended up marrying Benjamin Arnold and moved the America. There Lex was born and, up until her eighth birthday the family remained there, in New England.
However, shortly after Lex’s eighth birthday the family moved to England. The reason was the new job of her father.
When the invitation from Hogwarts finally arrived in Leicester City, Lex had already lived with her strange abilities for a couple of years. Her mother had always urged her not to show those to anyone, and secretly she had hope that, maybe, Lex’s abilities would just go away. Though, it proved to be a pointless hope. Lex was just like her mother. Certainly it was a shock for both of her parents, but there were things that just couldn’t be changed. Their daughter was a witch just like her mother. Thus, it was better for Lex to learn how to control those powers rather than leaving them untrained and dangerous.
So Lex enrolled at Hogwarts.
Her first day ended with the Sorting Hat, which put her into Ravenclaw. She also learned about the philosophy coming from Slytherin and promptly had to deal with some of their members, namely a certain Lefcourt, who was also in her first year. Lex soon experienced more advanced members of Slytherin, but eventually, and with the support from older Ravenclaws, she managed to escape the usual bullying.
Hogwarts opened many new things for her, but the most interesting one was Quidditch. Lex was an average flier and thus never managed it into the team, but that didn’t stop her from turning into a Ravenclaw fangirl. During the past four years Lex has visited every single Quidditch game at Hogwarts.
The school also brought new challenges for Lex and she soon found out that subjects that required precision were her thing. But subjects like divination or care of magical creatures confused the hell out of her, literally. She just didn’t have the feeling for those. Yes, a hippogriff was an amazing creature, but even when Lex behaved correctly and treated it properly, or even better than that, the animal just wouldn’t cooperate. Ultimately, any attempt proved to be, more or less, hopeless. At least, the magical creatures didn’t react hostile. The same could be applied for her attempts in herbology. Plants liked her as much as animals did.
Thus Lex eventually focussed on the precise sciences in the magic world, such as potions and arithamncy, since potions didn’t try to bite her.
As the years passed, Lex took part in the normal campus life at Hogwarts. She made friends, and also enemies –Slytherins, of course-, had a crush on someone, took part in her lessons, did her homework and, over all, enjoyed life.
But, as it was, none of it really prepared her for the things that were about to come.
