Name:
Jennifer Anne Herado
(Jenn for short)
Age & Birthday:
17 | April 9, 1991
Bloodline:
Pureblood
Year:
7th
House:
Slytherin
Personality:
Quite often with other girls, she takes the 'don't mess with me' stance. She only has a couple friends that are girls, doesn't care for more. Girls are competition with the guys. Around guys, she's outgoing, flamboyant, speaks her mind (if she doesn't like the guy). If she likes them, she will play the part of a shy, quiet girl who can hardly speak -- if and only if she thinks it'll gain her the guy. After she's reeled him in, it's full throttle her real self (at least the part she lets others see).
She's secretive, doesn't care for anyone to know her private thoughts, though she does keep a journal when no one's around and looking. Its whereabouts are known to her and only her. Usually, it's somewhere on her person where she knows it's safe should a professor search her things. After all, one could never truly trust anyone. Her own father had taught her that. Hell, no matter how much she gleaned from him, she doesn't truly trust him. He taught her many of the ways of the Dark Lord. He was a Death Eater, him staying true to the Herado lineage and trait of being a Dark Wizard, also the Slytherin cliché. If she continues the way she's been going, she'll be one as well.
Much to her dismay, there's no Dark Lord to serve any longer, and she knows nothing of the uprising as of yet, it not having started yet. She knows the names of few Death Eaters, only the ones that had something to do with her father Matthew Herado and his 'business' he ran on the side. But anywho, she will show her pureblood supremacy if ever she gets the chance. Right now, she doesn't want to show it, doesn't want to get her dear cousin Jamie upset now, does she? Eh, she'll keep that in mind, should she want to land herself in detention or 'worse' expelled.
She could care less about her academics. If it weren't for her father's threat to stop teaching her of the dark arts if she let her grades fall, she'd have just scraped by, but she's been working on pulling them up. She can be hard working and diligent when she wants to, contrasting greatly with her punk, rebellious nature whenever she gets into the books.
But, nevertheless, her academics stay high, always have with that threat over her head. Dark arts fascinated her too much to risk it. In fact, her grades were always better than her sister's.
During her years, she showed a strong leadership capability. She didn't put up with nonsense babbling of older kids or younger alike, always telling them in her own way to shut their traps. Kids listened to her, soon learning after a few well-placed hexes (couldn't prove it though, no one having seen her do it, not even themselves).
Height:
5'6"
Hair:
Long, straight, brown
Eyes:
Blue
General Appearance:
Neat and collected when she wants to be, but she's up with the latest punk trend. She can usually be found in cargo pants and a tank when not in her robes, but in the colder months, her style is a little more warm than that but still trendy. She always makes sure her hair is neat, cares too much about her appearance to play Quidditch or really be caught on a broom unless it proves to be beneficial to a pursuit of hers...but seeing as there was an opening the year before, she gained the position to annoy the hell out of her cousin Jamie.
Her nails are usually painted black, at times a dark shade of a burgundy-ish tint, depends on what she's wearing if she'll go with color. Her nails are usually cut short and trimmed, free of any hangnails. Her hands are kept clean and dirt free. She's the sort who makes sure that she washes her hands any possible moment.
She tends to keep her hair long and straight, natural, but she will wear it back in a ponytail on rare occasions, but that's only when it's windy or the rare occasion she's actually having to do some sort of work. Also, if it's plain out annoying her or not cooperating, she'll wear it back, but most of the time she does whatever it takes, even if it means breaking the rules and using a glamour charm of some sort, despite not being in class, to keep it from having to be pulled back.
Rarely can one find her with pretty earrings. She wears her earrings all the time, only taking them out to clean; it's always a hoop and some sort of studs, usually white gold or gold. She has two piercings in the lower part of the ear in each and one in the cartilage of the right ear (small hoop earring through it). She doesn't wear necklaces, only plain chokers that go with her outfits. No rings adorn her fingers or toes, nor bracelets her wrists or anklets her ankles.
For dances, she goes with the most casual formal wear she can unless she actually takes a true fancy for the one who asked her. That's the only time she'll doll up. Regardless, she will put on a bit nicer of earrings, one stud in each ear, no hoop in the right, will wear her hair swept up in some do, maybe a necklace and/or a ring, if you're lucky.

History:
Jennifer Anne Herado was born to Andrew Kenneth Herado and Megan Rose (Snyder) Herado on April 9, 1991, first of a set of twins. She was a beautiful baby, actually the quieter and more reserved one of the two, and even to this day keeps up that front...around her mum and a few others. She was never ill when she was a baby. In fact, she rarely cried, making her mother worry whether she could feel pain and such, but she smiled, laughed, so she knew she could.
Her toddler years were busy. She was nonstop on the go as soon as she got the hang of walking. Her mum and dad were always chasing her, though she knew better than to do it all the time with daddy dearest. He was working, always, it seemed, and her young mind thought he worked too much. Life was for playing and fun, wasn't it? But, daddy never would. To this day, she can only recall one time playing with her father, and that is only because of a picture. She has no conscious recollection other than the moving picture.
Her childhood years were at best described as unique. Stupid muggles were always around the house, trying to get her and her younger twin into school from the day they turned five. That was also the year mummy and daddy told her and Jennica that they were going to have a younger sibling. Well, Jenn didn't like that much, so she began to seclude herself, hoping mummy and daddy would notice and come play with her, but they never did. They were too busy with that little baby that she couldn't even see yet. They were always taking her and her sister shopping, buying itty bitty clothes or a stroller or setting up one of the extra rooms to turn into a bedroom for that little baby.
When she and her sister turned six, mummy was very pregnant, and they couldn't even have a party with friends like they usually did. She hated that baby and he wasn't even born yet. Not only did she have to share her birthday, but now the family was giving the baby gifts, too, and the baby wasn't there yet! She ended up spending most of that dumb family party alone in her room, staring angrily at the yucky flowers and scary decorative dolls (only scared her at night, and that was because it felt like they were staring at her) that decorated her room.
Soon after, baby brother Alexander Luis was born, who ended up being a squib, much to her liking (gave her all the more reason to tease him when he didn't get his Hogwart's letter this summer). The kid soon became a pest, at first taking all of HER mummy and daddy's attention and then as he got older, he became a tag along, seemingly liking her better than Jennica. Jenn and Alex were often in fights, Jenni keeping well out of them, but the siblings often did find something to play together, and Jenn began to grow more outgoing.
Life continued as normal as normal was until her brother turned four, but then mummy and daddy started fighting. She was the one left in charge to take the others to a room to play, and she came a bit like their overseer/parent during that time, even though she was only ten. Soon, it was announced her mum and dad weren't going to be living together anymore. They were getting divorced. Jenn was soon to learn that it was because of her father's delving into the Dark Arts. Her mother gained custody of the kids, but Jenn insisted on seeing her father quite often. Reluctantly, Megan gave in. Neither of the other children went to see daddy much, only her, and it made her feel special, though the divorce had knocked that outgoing spirit from her. She was now more reserved, reclusive, more or less like a young child trying to act like an adult to gain the favor of her parents. She rarely played, insisted on 'studying' as she told her mum under her father's instruction.
Alexander took his daughter Jenn to Diagon Alley before her first year at Hogwarts, watching as she selected her wand, her owl, her books...mint condition, of course. After that trip, he took her home, as she was spending the night at his house. He began to teach her simple spells, promising at her words of fear that the Ministry wouldn't know because it was a wizarding household. Showing aptitude, he offered to teach her the Dark Arts, if she wouldn't tell her mum, didn't want to get her mad, after all. He began to fill her mind with words of the Dark Lord who had passed away two years before, told her of all his great deeds. The man's story intrigued her, and she wished he was alive, hated that Harry Potter she had once admired for his Quidditch abilities. She had no more desire to be like him, no more desire to play Quidditch. Anything he was, she didn't want to be.
So, over the years, she has become learned in different aspects of the Dark Arts, paying particular attention when the Unforgivable Curses were taught about to her by that old fogy (yes, she even thinks her cousin Jamie, who is only two years younger an old fogy, doesn't even like her one bit, her father having told her of their treachery, beginning to twist and fill her mind with ideas) of a professor, Casey Winslow, last year. She read everything she could gain access to on the topics, taking them as the object of her term paper that term while almost everyone else seemed to avoid them. She at least enjoys Casey's class, though, for it teaches her what to expect from another should she try a particular dark curse, helps her perfect her spellcasting.
This year, this unsuspecting teen prepares to endure another long, boring year at Hogwarts, wishing Christmas holiday would hurry and come, then summer holiday and freedom (mainly because she doesn’t have to be with her blood traitor sister and squib of a brother and because of the Dark Arts). She lives with her father now during the summers and holidays, being of age, but she can't wait to get her own place, choosing to wait until the year is over before setting to it.
