History:
Born into a poor muggle family on the south side of London, It seemed that Walter Crane life would amount to little. That was until he turned eleven and a letter was hand delivered by a member of the Hogwarts Staff, carefully he explained to Walters Parents about Hogwarts and the world of wizarding, as well that Walter had magical talent and was thus eligible for enrollment at Hogwarts. Though confused at first, they soon realized that perhaps in this different society their son might stand a chance at achieving something great and they agreed to enroll him with Hogwarts. Soon young Walter was sorted into Gryffindor, where he was received with much warmth and welcome. Given Walters warm and loving nature he soon proved popular with most of his fellow students, except when it came ot the Slytherin Students atleast. Despite his likeable nature, his talent at magical was somewhat sub-par with him just barely passing in classes such as Charms, Potions and a few others. Flying was perhaps his worst class, Crashing on his first lesson he later broke his leg when he accidentally flew past the Whomping willow which knocked him off his broom and broke his leg. The academic classes was where he excelled and as he got older, he showed signs of leadership potential. Nevertheless his time at Hogwarts was somewhat unremarkable except for the fact that he was a good student, and a goodclass mate with more friends then he could remember. Graduating from Hogwarts he sought employment with the Ministry of Magic where he found a desk job with the Department of Mysteries. For the next 20 years he worked through a dozen different jobs, slowly climbing his way up the ladder of power before becoming head of Beast Division. In this time he married, and had one son. In his spare time he researched and wrote books on Magical history, which was a subject he'd loved during his years at Hogwarts. This fact earned him much respect and praise in the certain circles. His talent for leadership and management finally began to show itself, and some debated his potential of becoming the Minister of Magic someday. Walter dismissed this idea, having no desire for such position or any sort of greatness at all. For another 20 years he worked hard and kept his nose to the grind stone, eventually coming to head the Department of Magical Transportation and other positions. The Wizarding wars? He remained safely behind his desk but decided to retire at the age of 63. Though this retirement was shortlived and in 2002 he returned to the spotlight of the Wizarding world, taking over the position of head of Department of Mysteries, which was a surprise given some of the subjects were a bit beyond his knowledge.
Finally after so many years, he had decided he wanted a crack at something more, with a belief that he could do it better then his 'corrupt' predecessors, soon he began collecting on favors owed and building support for himself politically, It took him five years but finally he was elected Minister of Magic. Since he's assumed power, he's generally received much praise for reversing the percieved misdirection that the Ministry had been following for some years though some of his policys were considered a bit odd. Despite his respiratory problems, which forces him to frequently drink a potion to help surpress it his reign has been a successful one, and he continues to champion the good cause with wide support
