Name: Katherina Rose Amherst
Age & Birthday: 30 | September 12, 1978
Bloodline: Half-blood
Personality:
How has she managed to shut her off from the world and is she really alright with it? Well, one, her anger management style has changed to be quite escalating. She rarely stuffs and she rarely manages, so she'll blow up if she thinks it will have any effect on a person and how he views her. Nervousness, anxiety, and genuine dislike or hatred are amongst her other triggers for angered blow-ups. It doesn't take much, but if one does his job instead of trying to fool around and not talk to her at all, he's guaranteed to get along just fine with her.
In regards to the second part of the question? No, Kate really is quite miserable in this lifestyle, not to mention lonely, but she often tries to make up for what's missing with reckless spending sprees, which have landed her in a tight spot more than once. Overeating sometimes is also a coping skill, and other times it's hardly eating at all, so yes, she does have some issues in that arena. She doesn't even actualize the feelings, just justifies them with things like, "It's what's best for me," or "I don't deserve it. I'm a mess."
Height: 5'6"
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Blue
General Appearance:
Katherine's blue eyes are stunning, usually accentuated by use of black eye liner and mascara and some eye shadow of a neutral color. Make up is common for her. Aside from the eye make-up, she also wears lipstick and blush, and while she does do her best to make sure her best facial features are noticed, she goes for as natural as possible while still accomplishing it for the most part. On the job, she goes lighter than usual because she figures there's no point to being all dolled up just to fight a criminal and sweat it off.
Her dark brown hair is kept below her shoulders in length, though at times she will decide to cut it a little shorter. Her general rule of thumb is that it still have enough length to comfortably place it into a ponytail without awkward placements of bobby pins, etc. When worn down, she generally takes the time to make it wavy to create a nice, full effect by adding body. However, times like that are rare. On your average day, it's pulled back in a half- or full ponytail, and just as frequently it's braided into a French braid.
Typically, Kate can be found in an office or on the field in her work robes, which are plain and black aside from the crest on the left side signifying that she was an auror. Beneath that robe is generally a skirt and a white blouse—typical, plain office clothing that doesn't particularly flatter her figure. Outside the office, however, she's a little more trendy. However, her colors tend to be neutral or blues that bring out her eyes for the tops and blacks for the bottoms. Just how she is. If she didn't dress as such, she would likely feel very awkward and out of place, not herself, and as she hates pretending, well, there you go. She's not going to budge and change her style for some random person.

History:
Katherine was born to a muggle mother and a wizard father, Jessica and Arvin. Her childhood was normal, and her parents rarely fought that she was aware of. She was given a swat here or there, but what else is new? Her mother was loving; her father was the fun one at times, the bad guy at others. Overall, she was close to both, which was why when she found her Christmas break of her first year at Hogwarts being spent in a courtroom she was completely shocked. Her father had wanted out, said things were getting too tough. She'd been left with her mother, mostly because her father said he couldn't handle her right now, and he promised he'd come back to her.
Yeah, right. She'd been so gullible. She'd waited the entire summer and half the next year. It was his absence at that Christmas that cemented the idea that in her mind that her friends had been trying to do over the past year and a half. She was truly alone, her and mum both. He wasn't coming back. People couldn't be absolutely trusted...at least, he couldn't, adults couldn't. Her friends could. No one else had proved nor would ever prove to be untrustworthy. Her friends supported her through it and helped her, but over time she began to withdraw as her own issues began to come up towards the end of her seventh year.
Stressful times proved to be a trigger for her own run-in with depression and the perfect cover. She knew what was going on. After all, she was studying to become a psychiatrist by career choice for after her Hogwarts' graduation. She did seek help, but it was like pulling teeth and only out of necessity. She was tired of the feelings of worthlessness (mostly spurred on by her absent father despite the fact that her mother's boyfriend, Leonard, of several years may as well be her father the way he treated her) and couldn't stand anymore of the concentration issues.
It was a struggle but she was soon under control and the meds were left as they were. Thankfully, it had little effect on her job options. Mungo's head of psychiatry had nothing against a person with a mental illness working in his ward, and she has since then worked to help people, though many will call her methods backwards. It's, again, her defense from caring and getting close. With talk in the way of Ministry decrees passing through the air, she is as excited of the possibilities of what might happen as everyone else. It will likely take another few months, but what does that matter? She just wants in that school again, face her demons, try to make a good memory.

Personality:
"You lie, in faith, for you are called plain Kate,Katherine might not be the prettiest girl in many people's eyes, but she makes it such by her deeds. She's not one to mingle or have friends. She has one, and that's good enough for her. She grew up in her teen years with the idea that it was better to be alone than to be close to people and lose them afterwards, and she's stuck to it ever since. Never had a boyfriend since him, never had many friends, shoved them all away.
And bonny Kate, and sometimes Kate the curst...."
