Name:
Lucy Winslow
Age & Birthday:
30 | February 16, 1978
Bloodline:
Muggle-born
Personality:
Lucy is rarely down. She can be quite talkative at times, if she wants to be, especially when she was younger, but she has grown up quite a bit since then. She's excited about the new baby and is glad she's not one of those girls who doesn't hardly show until they're almost due. Bring up the baby, and she's sure to yack your ear off.
She does have mood swings quite a bit more often than she likes to admit. One moment she could be lecturing Sam's ear off or ranting about a bad day at work and the next moment going on and on about something else, content and happy as can be. Next minute she could be asking for Sam to take her to the store, going on about how something like chili beans and cottage cheese sounds good (Surely, to her husband's dismay).
Stress has interesting effects on Lucy. When under it, she usually gets a little more excitable than usual on normal days, but when she's feeling particularly moody, she'll withdraw from everyone, won't want to be touched or spoken to. You staying over, you have to fend for yourself for dinner, unless she's in a cooking mood, which does happen from time to time.
She hates that Death Eaters still roam around out of Azkaban, but she doesn't let that get in her way, doesn't let it keep her from living her life to its fullest. It had at first made her not really want kids, especially considering that they'd thought Voldemort had been killed for the final time before, yet he'd come back eight years ago, but as the years went by, she decided she wasn't going to let thoughts of Voldemort and his pathetic followers keep her back. Any of them dare cross her path, and they'd better watch out.
Height:
5'6"
Hair:
Blonde
Eyes:
Brown
General Appearance:
'A tent?! This thing is a tent! Why are you so fascinated with getting me into big pants?!' Such exclamations are frequently heard during these, her first few months of pregnancy if her mum or Sam even mentions maternity clothing. She figures she'll wear them when she needs them, but don't force them on her this early! She still barely shows, only if someone really takes a good, long look at her, but dare you do that, and she'll 'kill' you (if she knows you) or you'll make her extremely nervous (if you're a stranger) and stand closer to her husband if he's with her. Doubt a stranger wants to risk Sam's wrath.
A great majority of the time, Lucy can be found in the linen pants and shirt and maybe a white overcoat with a stethoscope around her neck that make up her doctor's wear with her hair pulled back in a half-ponytail or full. When she's home, she dresses in her usual jeans and blouse or t-shirt or pjs/nightgown, depends what she feels like at any given moment. She'll still dress up from time to time, if she feels the need to feel special again or if Sam has been acting a bit too careful and overbearring/overprotective of her and she wants to be recognized as a woman again by him instead of an object to be protected.

History:
Lucy was raised in a muggle family, not knowing of the fact she was a witch until her Hogwart's letter. Her mum seemed to know what it was about, as her mother was a witch, as well, so she let Lucy spend the remainder of that summer with her grandmother where she learned all about the wizarding world.
She accepted it pretty easily since she had always known there was something different about her. In her time at Hogwarts, she made plenty of friends in all houses except Slytherin, seeing as that was hardly possible with their hostility toward muggle-borns.
After Hogwarts, she went on to pursue a career at the wizarding hospital St. Mungo's in the children's department, though she soon was asked to work in the Emergency section. So, she worked there for quite a few months, living on call a lot of the time. On her days off, she was often found in her home in Diagon Alley or on missions for the Order, which she sometimes couldn't be as loyal to as she wants, which is why she tried persistantly to get moved back to her preferred department in the hospital, not wanting to have the stress of being on call 24/7 everytime she went to work or to have to continually having to be quite so quick in her thinking, except when necessary.
With some persistance, she got placed into the maternity ward, which she worked at with no problem, but soon she managed to finally be moved to her desired position. So now, she spends her days performing physicals, assigning medicine, giving advice, and signing referrals. She's not looking forward to maternity leave at all, but she's not at all having regrets about the baby. She wouldn't give up her child for anything in the world.
Eleven years ago, she married Sam Winslow at a ceremony open to close friends and family, which, due to the size of the Winslow family, ended up being a bit larger than she had ever had in mind, but it all didn't matter as she came down that aisle and when all was said and done. Sam transferred to the Wizarding Relations Department of the Ministry, and is nearing the head of department, which is a relief to Lucy, not really having to travel as much as he was during the point in their dating relationship when they'd been so frequently away from each other.
She waited quite a while before getting off birth control, not really wanting to have a kid when the circumstances were so uncertain, especially after having to watch Casey and Evie before she and Sam were wed. It took a while, but finally she's pregnant, and she is hoping that nothing will go wrong, as any mother-to-be naturally would. She's looking forward to having this kid, just wished the wait wasn't so long.
Role-play Sample:
Lucy was up in the Hospital Wing, looking through the potions cabinet, seeing what antidotes Poppy had ready and what she didn't, not really paying attention to the fact that anyone had come in. Poppy, we need...
Yes, yes, I know, wulfesbane. I sent a student down to Professor Carter to get some supplies so we can get to brewing, the nurse replied dully. That was about the tenth thing Lucy had pointed out and the girl's scrutiny was tiring her.
Lucy looked back, giving a small smile and then turned back to the cabinet. Sleeping potion, pain killer, bone regrowing, dream-be-gone, nothing for burns. What if--? She didn't even want to think about the 'what ifs' right now, not when without her bidding her mind wanted to put Sam into those scenarios. 'He'll make it, Luce,' she told herself, letting out a sigh. 'Just concentrate, do your job here, just in case some minor injury occurs to him or any of them.'
Truth was, Lucy felt somewhat guilty for not going to the battle. She could always change her mind. Plenty of time to chase after them with a Point Me spell at this point in time, if she changed her mind. Maybe she needed some potion to calm her nerves. Great, no simple chamomille tea in the cabinets anywhere, even in Poppy's office. She snapped her fingers, and a house elf came, and she requested some tea, letting herself collapse into the chair, Poppy taking this point in time to dare to go into her office. Maybe the girl would stop scouring her cabinets for a bit.
