December 25th, 2012; 12:12 pm A folded piece of parchment, a very proper and clean piece of parchment with a watermarked and ornate CL at the top, is stuck to one of the bedposts of Summer Leighton's bed. It reads as follows: Sweetie,
Sadly, our owls would not leave the house this morning. We had to resort to using your cousin's peregrine falcon, which delayed the letter by a few hours. We hope this letter reaches you before lunchtime.
Your father and I have received your recent correspondence. We have been talking with your aunts and uncles. While they may not see the harm in leaving their children in school, your father and I have decided that you will be coming home as soon as possible.
Araelia has informed me that you know how to sneak out of Hogwarts without being spotted. This is the only time we will condone such an action. We will pick you up from The Three Broomsticks at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Please be there on time for once.
Merry Christmas, Mother
A scrawled note in spiky handwriting follows the above: See you all next term. DON'T GET YOURSELF KILLED, YOU BLOODY FOOLS!

A very proper and clean piece of parchment with a watermarked and ornate CL at the top, is sent to the Headmaster. It reads as follows: Headmaster Camoynes,
I am withdrawing my daughter Summer Leighton, Slytherin 5th year, from Hogwarts for the Winter Break. I do not care if you approve of this or not. Given recent events, she will be coming home.
Sincerely, Maggie Leighton
