Got a possible lead. Redhead and child boarding ferry to mainland. Will trail her to confirm. If not, will start over in last known location in Lancashire. Some scrawled signature and a date. November 4th. |

Another letter, written on sea salt soaked paper, tied to the leg of a peregrine falcon. Wax seal bearing the stamp of Barcelona. Scrawled handwriting. Clairbourne,
Lead gone cold. Woman and child not your wife and child. En route to Lancashire, currently. Hopefully, will be a clue there. Would you like me to keep looking? A scrawled signature and a date. November 17th. |

The letter quickly found itself crumpled and thrown in the fire, and the owl had flown the only place it could: up to a perch on a tall bookshelf. It was far from uncomfortable, but the man was hurling obscenities and throwing furniture around down below. It was safer. "I pay you half up front! I give you my trust, and this is how you repay me?! More lies? More wild goose chases?" The man said, now leaning over his desk and breathing heavily. The owl dared to hoot, receiving a glare that promptly shut it up. She turned her body carefully to match the direction her head was facing as the man began to scrawl his letter.18th November 2011
I will no longer be requiring your services. Enjoy your money. No signature was left, and Eric curled it up, tied a rope around it, and motioned for the owl to land on the perch he had righted only seconds after doing this. The owl landed, turned her back to Eric, and ruffled her feathers. Eric rolled his eyes. "Take it back," he said shortly while tying the letter to her foot. He walked over to the window and opened it, pointing expectantly. The owl took her sweet time to obey, but soon, she was but a spot in the red-orange sky.
