October 6th
A bat has carried this letter to the slave quarters. It is sealed with a red wax seal stamped with the image of a candle. Enclosed is a wanted poster with Lexi's picture. The letter accompanying is written in a fine, easy to read script.
Mel,
I have several leads on your brother. No sight of him yet, but I've narrowed down possible locations. It seems he's escaped and is avoiding detection. This is good news, if he's been successful this long. Chin up, and cheerio. I'll have him write you when I find him. Keep your chin up, and I'll write to you soon.

Tears dripped down the young girl' cheeks onto the picture of her older brother, sent to her by a man she barely knew. Yes it was a wanted poster, and yes her brother looked so, so different, but it was him. It was really, really him. The black and white photo twitched and blinked, too the point Melissa could almost believe he'd somehow hear her if she spoke. He wouldn't of course, that wasn't possible, but even still... " I..." Her voice sounded odd, even to her, kind of thick and muffled, "I miss you Lexi. I'm really sorry, I never thought this would happen, I mean I didn't kn-" She swallowed hard in an attempt to dislodge the lump in her throat, "I'm just sorry..."
Melissa wiped the stray moisture from under her eyes and folded the paper carefully in half along the edges, before setting it down on the bundle of blankets she called a bed. She hadn't even read the accompanying letter before being distracted by the photo, so turned her attention to it and scanned it quickly. Macro thought he was close. the thought both excited and terrified Melissa. What if Lexi wouldn't want to see her? This was all her fault, it was her blood status. Fear began mixing with the guilt in the pit of her stomach, making her want too through up. Grabbing one of the pieces of parchment she'd found while cleaning, and a muggle biro she's collected during a errand she scribbled back a message.
"Marco,
This photo means more to see than I could ever explain, and I thank you for that. But if you find Alexander, don't force him. If he's angry, well I understand that. If he doesn't want too see me any more I will understand and respect his wishes.
I messed up his life, I wouldn't blame him.
Yours,
Melissa Mel
