Spiders - creep her out, she constantly had nightmares about them when she was a child.
Habit:When she's nervous, she fidgets with her hands, and brushes her hair with her fingers.
Pet Peeve: Hypocrites, constantly being let down, feeling helpless
Personality:
Likes: Family, Peace, Kind people, Flying, Reading, Dueling, Hunting, Protecting others
Dislikes: Death Eaters, Slytherin Bloodlines, Repetitive noise
Five good traits
- Persistent

- Knowledgeable
- Kind
Five bad traits
- Prefers solitude
- Stubborn
- Doesn't trust easily
- Bottles her emotions
- Cynical
Summary: Having grown up with her mother, Kara has picked up many of her mannerisms and idiosyncrasies. Perfectionism is the key here, and while she is only one person, she manages to do everything at once to help others using the best of her abilities. She's kind, sure, that is unless you cross her. Having witnessed what she has in the unfortunate turn of events, Kara doesn't trust as easily as she has in the past. She is a friendly spirit, to those she has come in contact with on good terms -- so if one can tear down her barriers of stubbornness and cynicism, a kinder, protective person will be found.

History:
Childhood:
Kara was born to a loving mother (Alexandra) and a workaholic father (Nicholas). Her mother was an Auror, a hard-working, determined woman who happened to fall in love and settle down with a man from the Ministry of Magic. As unlikely as that couple would sound, Kara was the prized, only child of the Viridian family, and her parents loved her very much as they knew she was going to be a talented child.
Shortly thereafter, news came through the wire. She saw how upset her mother had become after hearing of the unforgivable curse (Cruciatis) used on her cousin Frank Longbottom and his wife, Alice. She watched her mother wail and writhe in intense anger and pain to hear this news and could never forget the agony as she wept. Death had not taken them, but the cruciatis curse was enough to take them away from her...they were beloved and talented Auror's who had fallen to this torment. So much pain. The Death Eaters were not a good cause, she learned. Kara hoped never to disappoint her mother, or let her down in any way. She never wanted to see her like that again.
Times were rough when she was growing up, as her parents started to lose all sense in communication, becoming quite harsh and rude with one another. Things at the ministry were in an uproar after the coming and going of someone called the Dark Lord, and “You-know-Who” and “The one who shall not be named” and the Auror-turned-Housewife had now had it up to her neck, after feeling so helpless to do anything after the deaths of her cousins. Their quarrels became so mundane that Kara ignored these happenings and played with the toys her mother and father had gotten her, until the fight turned from work to an awe-inspiring question, something Kara ignored until she was old enough to understand the murmurings of those passing through their home and passing by them in the street; Nicholas wasn’t even really her father. Even Kara’s grandparents had some questions about the appearance of her child and how it looked vaguely familiar but -- no. Alexandra refused to admit it…
It didn’t seem to bother her so much until she grew up a few ages, coming to realize she looked nothing like her father. Each time she inquired of the rumors to her mother, she was quickly quieted and sent to her room. Why did it make her so mad?
Age 11. Kara was ready and was sent to the legendary Hogwarts, school for witches just like herself. It was there she finally got to meet her cousin Neville, son of Frank and Alice Longbottom, the tortured cousins of her mother‘s. After asking how they were related, Alexandra‘s mother replied that Frank‘s father was her grandmother‘s brother…quite the twisted family tree they had going, actually. Coming to introduce herself to Neville, she realized that this boy was strange…and his story was tragic. As kind as she was, she helped take her cousin under her wing, and helped him as he stumbled through his classes for the first few years. Kara managed to get to know the Golden Trio, the three destined heroes of the Gryffindor house. She watched as they endured the trials that were denoting the coming of the Dark Lord. She was blown away…the Dark Lord? She had heard of his havoc during her mother’s time at Hogwarts, but he was coming back to take revenge on this boy, Harry Potter?
It was the summer between her second and third years at Hogwarts, and in that time, her parents became separated. The only thing she remembers is him kissing her forehead goodbye before leaving into the night. As the war raged on, Kara heard news from the Ministry that her father had been killed in an ambush by lingering Death Eaters. Tragedy was a constant companion, and depression soon kicked in for the young student. Kara, now in her third year, had befriended a girl in her house named Elana Lenor, a playful girl who had an ever serious older brother who was a Ravenclaw. The two girls got along quite well, mostly making fun of him and his awkward smarts. Before she knew it, she had a pretty good sized group of friends, after worrying that she wasn’t going to fit in very well. Elana became her best friend, and the two were mostly inseparable and her friendship was good enough for her to heal her in the time of mourning.
Kara had acquired a great disliking of the Slytherin house, especially as she watched the Malfoy boy strut as he did, thinking that he owned the place. However, there seemed to be more than just the hatred of a pompous boy. Although she did learn of her mother’s hatred for a woman named Bellatrix LeStrange, and her connection to the Black’s and Malfoy’s, Kara knew there was something more than inherent rivalry. She couldn’t understand it…she couldn’t understand why she hated those of Slytherin house so much. Maybe it was because they treated Gryffindor’s like herself, like her cousin Neville, like that Potter boy -- with such disrespect? Maybe it was because she wasn’t doing well in Potions and Snape had his way of punishing them by taking points away? Snape…Kara never saw eye to eye with her Potions Professor, but she knew there was a strange air about him, something that would come to light in the coming years. There were so many questions about this silent rivalry, though none dared to ask, as they came upon their own conflicts with Severus himself.
Before the Takeover:
By the time she had graduated school, the war was over…or so they said. There was much changed at Hogwarts; her beloved Headmaster was gone, and the school was a different place now…it no longer felt like home, and the people she considered her family had indefinitely disbanded. They were moving on, away from this place, to become something more than just witch and wizard students. Kara had gone on, following in the footsteps of her mother, to become an Auror. She had been intrigued with the occupation since she was a child, and there were a few notable Aurors in her family, so she pursued the dream. Her mother was her mentor, but she had been trained by others in the classes she’d attended and soon graduated with higher marks than she’d ever dreamt of achieving.
It was here that she came to met her new best friend Liam, a bartender, when the girls decided to take Elana to a pub for her farewell party. It was definitely a sad moment when Kara had to bid Elana farewell, but she decided it was for the better that she was going to explore the world for a time. Elana promised to return home, and Kara would hold her to that. Things would also change drastically here for Kara, when another sudden tragedy struck. Jaleth, the awkward older brother of her good friend, was actually Kara’s boyfriend a year and a half out of school -- and Kara would discover that he was leaving her for another woman. Liam comforted her in this time and through the pain and sorrow, she survived.
Having moved out on her own, she visited her mother often to duel and practice what she’d learned in Auror training. It was then that Kara started to have dreams…strange dreams…scary images of a bright green light. Many were screaming, many lie helpless. There was an eerie fog about the battlefield. This wasn’t of the past, however, something she lived through…this was of the future, and what was to become of her and those who survived the second coming. These dreams became more vivid and heavier as each night passes.
A parcel came to her flat, delivering it to her via owl, and she found very strange contents within. There was a journal inside, and taped on the back was a photo of what her mother had called “The Order of the Phoenix”. She had done her research after hearing what Order was formed in her time, and noticed a few familiar faces and notable names in the Wizarding world: Remus Lupin, Arthur Weasley, Frank Longbottom, she read…these people who had formed an army against the Dark Lord before. One man did stand out. Kara recognized him as one of her mother’s old boyfriends, a face that her late father had wished away. Why had they been so secretive about this for all these years -- especially after all of the rumors, the cold shoulders and head shaking? She never knew his name until it was pointed out to her. Sirius Black, they called him…a name she’d heard repeatedly through the rumor mill, and through the mutterings blown behind her back in her travels.
Another piece of the puzzle fell into place as she realized that inside the journal which had been packaged with the photo had a name etched into it; it was there, clear as day, in quite nice handwriting, in black ink: Sirius Black.
Now, at the age of 28, she has returned to Hogwarts.
She has wandered about the place, scouting the territory and reminiscing on old times. Kara knew that it was going to be a different era now, with a different Headmistress and all, so she has now come to the school to see if her dreams were going to be coming true, and find out who exactly, delivered that parcel. She came upon a kind, unusually caring and helpful soul, Casey Winslow. He allowed her to take a room at the school until she could find what exactly what she was looking for and for that, she was entirely grateful...that was, until fate took a strange turn...for the worst.
December of 2008, a month after her arrival at Hogwarts -- there was a battle...it was epic, terrible and one that no one, especially of the magical community, would forget. It was a cold, snowy evening where the children, teachers, visitors and whoever was scheduled to attend the event, thought there shouldn't be a care in the world had said world come crashing down on them. There was true carnage here; the Death Eaters arrived to claim what they thought was theirs, leaving no witnesses alive and those who were fortunate enough to escape disappeared into the night.
Since the Takeover:
Kara fought as hard as she could to protect the souls who attended the night of the disaster. She dons three scars to prove that she was a part of it, also. After realizing there was nothing more she could do, the auror, dressed in a finely tailored ball gown, found herself bruised, tattered and exhausted. She fled the scene as quickly as she could, slightly embarrassed and disheartened at the fact that she could not save everyone. The images from the ruined school burned into her distraught mind. She has also never discussed her mourning over the late Casey Winslow, though it hurt her immensely to hear of his death.
War torn and broken by many souls in her past, Kara was not phased to know that her mother was murdered during the takeover. Murdered, not killed. She has searched to find her killer, only to come up empty.
It has been nearly two years and Kara finally emerges. She has frequented Damien's safehouse in secret, delivering supplies only when needed and keeping out of sight. When stopped by unknowing people in the streets, Kara keeps the guise of a courier, one who delivers packages to and from the area. She keeps close watch for any other fugitives making their way to the "fabled" safehouse and makes a point to protect them if necessary. Otherwise, the auror keeps out of sight.
Nowadays, she's been staring curiously at one of her few possessions: the diary of Sirius Black. Though the aid of Headmaster Winslow gave her a slight heads up, she is still highly unsure why she even received it in the first place...

The school at night...Kara always found it beautiful. Especially around this time of year, when the snow had fallen softly and settled around the grounds -- especially the time of the ball.
The Yule Ball had been set up in the Great Hall. The ceiling matched the outside sky, showing a light snowfall, and the flakes that fell diminished before they even hit the crowd. Icicles hung around on the walls, the round tables were set, and the silvery ice-palace was just perfect. The refreshment table seemed to be a hit, crowded with students and professors alike -- or at least, whoever wasn't on the dance floor.
Kara stood aside, near the stage, watching the young ones interact as she once did in her days at Hogwarts. With a bright smile to those who passed, she nodded at them and couldn't help but feel the strong nostalgia sweep over her. Her fourth year at Hogwarts was the year she attended the dance, and had the bumbling, nervous and adolescent feel to it. That was the year the Tri-Wizard tournament, the first year that there were actually four entrants to the contest. That was the year the unfortunate Harry Potter was involved...and the same time her dear friend Cedric was killed by the Dark Lord.
Murdered.
She felt a chill.
This memory seemed to match the frightening mood that had befallen the students, professors and other attendees of the Ball. There was a terrible air filling the Hall; screams, frantic running about, people searching for a way out. There was trouble here now. Kara couldn't believe her eyes...Hogwarts was a powerful school, and somehow, it was being invaded...
...through filth and fog, Kara knew this unmistakable image of the darkness. Death Eaters.
As the cold air swept over, the auror acted fast and began to help the kids out of the hall, to keep them from harm. Her wand was tightly gripped in her right hand, trying to keep calm in this ever so vivid nightmare. The destruction was disheartening as she managed to evacuate most of the children in her area; peace felt so far out of reach. There was so much darkness around the school now. Kara hadn't seen so much hellish turmoil since the reign of Dolores Umbridge. She shuddered.
The Dark Ones had arrived.
A few steps out, and finally settled into the deep silence, Kara was now alone...wand held tight, upright and ready to go. She found herself wrapped in shadows, her footsteps taking her to the lush gardens just outside of the Hall. Green in the spring, she eyed the familiar territory, only to find that it was a lot colder now, darker, more mysterious in the winter days. It had been blanketed by a soft whiteness that once brought comfort, and was now her place to wait, to filter out the darkness that had come around.
This was now her place of patrol.
