For a certain seventh year Ravenclaw named Casey Winslow, quidditch was essentially his life aside from his girlfriend and studies. So, when a certain Dolores Umbridge had stripped him of his broom and 'privilege' to play Quidditch, he hadn't taken well to it. He'd argued about why it was unfair. He still believed it unfair. He had merely voiced what he believed in and there it went flying by him: Quidditch captain and seeker kicked off the Ravenclaw team. Needless to say, the whole of Ravenclaw hadn't been happy. They'd been giving him the cold shoulder of late. A new captain had yet to be appointed, though Casey had attempted to petition John be made it, seeing as he was very highly skilled, and Casey believed, perhaps better suited for the job despite his quietness, but given Umbridges problems with John...well, it wasn't going to well.
Casey found quite a bit of extra time on his hands now, and he didn't quite like it or know how to handle it. He'd thought about spending more time with Evie, but he didn't want to get on her nerves or seem clingy or something, so he'd only done that a few times, and now he wasn't sure what to think. He needed his broom back, had to fly, had to go back to playing. He didn't feel alive without that rush of soaring through the hair hundreds of feet, yards from the ground. And there had been nothing he could do about it...at that moment. It was locked away in the horrid woman's office.
He had to get it back; that was all there was to it. For once in his life, Casey was actually planning to break rules and defy orders because he wasn't going to listen to some dictator who had unfairly given out punishment and abused her rights. Therefore, he felt somewhat justified. Now, it was just the whole 'how to do it' part. He could...no, no, that wouldn't work. He needed someone...a couple someones, actually, to help him by keeping lookout, and who better than two animagus? They could be mistaken for student's pets if they acted accordingly, couldn't they? Hmm...and the only two...well, four, he knew of were Evie, Jamie, Amie, and Natalie. Amie and Natalie were out since who could possibly mistake a grim and a sparrow as pets?
So...that left Evie and Jamie, which posed a problem. He knew he could probably get Evie, no problem. She might even be 'proud of him.' Jamie...probably. Even though she'd avoided him since he'd nearly choked her the year before, this was different. It was Quidditch...something Jamie Seams took very seriously last time he'd checked. So, if he got them seperately so they didn't know ahead of time, it could work, but if he told either one of them the other would be there helping...well, one or both might bail on him and he'd be left alone.
Continuing his semi-pacing near the school gate (probably dangerous, considering what Umbridge would assume if she saw him so near the gate, but he wasn't thinking of that at the moment), he didn't hear as someone approached, too lost in his planning to notice anything around him.

Jamie walked out the foyer, firebolt in hand nimbly. This was the one gift she wouldn't be wrecking that was from her parents. She just prayed it didn't stop working! On her way out she noticed some kid pacing back and forth near the school gates. Wanted to go somewhere did he? Well, broomage was the only way to get around. She smirked with a shrug and flipped one leg over her broom, pushing off with ease, quickly gaining speed.
Hey, the guy seemed cute, why not show off? At a fast speed she soared up high, looping around in the sky. Gradually, she slowed and sped up, doing a fast sideways spin. Seeing that she had his attention she began spiraling toward the ground right at him, his beautiful brunette haired head the target. Just a few millimeters before contact she shot forward, her broom skimming his hair. She turned her head and gave a little wave, stopping and turning pale with disbelief, not caring that she was heading for a tree when she saw who it was. With a gasp she turned her head, but it was too late.
She reluctantly jumped off her broom, a rather large rock meeting her side harshly. Her big hazel eyes wached in horror as her broom spiraled(I like that word today) toward the tree, all pain forgotten as she struggled to her feet, arm wrapped around her ribs. "NO!"

Casey watched as some girl came towards him on a broom, recognizing her by her style of flying. Jamie Seams. And she was...showing off...for him? Gulp. Someone take him, pin him to the gate, and slap him silly. He had to be seeing things. Wow...she had to be getting desperate, the way she was showing off with her spirals and such. It was quite interesting to watch, quite a display of talent, and, if he wasn't already taken and on top of that having early considerations of asking his girlfriend to marry him, he might actually have been attracted by that, but not after all Jamie Seams had done to him and Evie. Couldn't let his mind ever wander that direction. Besides, wasn't she taken? Brian Carter, his friend...wasn't he--weren't they? This was oh-so-confusing to the young man's brain at the moment, being pulled from heavy plotting to get his broom back to watching Jamie Seams show off for him. Freaky. Freaky, freaky, freaky.
He put his hands up as she zoomed over him, broom brushing the top of his head lightly, seeing her legs on either side. It was strange...thinking Jamie Seams could possibly have the hots for him. Maybe she didn't know who he was. Yes, that was it, she didn't know who he was. 'But, how could she not?' he wondered, as she turned and waved flirtatiously at him. There was no way she couldn't see him. And, even if she didn't know who he was, that didn't change that she actually found him cute enough to show off for. Stranger than strange, these thoughts. Led to dangerous water as far as he was concerned.
Convenient, though, he couldn't help but think as he watched her (his arms now crossed) fly towards a tree. He'd save her broom, which she was obviously distressed about, help her, and maybe he could get her to give him the time of day to talk to her so he could get her to help him get his broom back. Unless, of course, she was too bloody embarrassed to talk to him after flirting with him and showing off for him and then falling.
He quickly grabbed his wand from his pocket as he watched the beautiful broom (who cared about the brunette at the moment?) race towards the tree, accio-ing it and catching it in his hand, grimacing some at the impact of it hitting the palm of his hand. Broom now safe, he stowed his wand away, walking over tot he brunette who was obviously in pain.
"You alright, Jamie? Maybe we should get you to Madam Pomfrey," he suggested, even though he should know the hospital wing was probably the last place she wanted to be with him, the memories it held.
His need for her to help him get his broom back and his amusement that she was showing off for him somehow overrode the anger he would normally have felt. But maybe the showing off was to rub it in that he couldn't play. Nevermind, couldn't dwell on that now, could be mad at her later, but he had to be nice to her now, if he wanted any chance of her helping him get his broom back.

When Jamie saw Casey accio her broom to him, she sighed with relief and eased back down to the ground, cocking her head back to look up at the sun with her eyes closed. When he approached her and spoke she opened her eyes lightly, looking up at him curiously. Why was he being so nice? When he mentioned 'Madam Pomfrey,' she firmly shook her head. She was in no hurry to go to the Hospital Wing with him.
With a sigh she started to shake her head, but then really clicking who it was, firmly nodded her head. "Of course I'm alright!" she snapped. "I only fell off my broom...and onto a really hard rock." She said the last part mostly to herself, feeling her ribs lightly. All clear, it was probably just bruised. She cleared her throat and whipped out her wand, gasping slightly in pain at the quick movement. Her mind traveled through all the spells, charms, and jinxes she knew. She chose the one she thought would be most effective and shut her eyes tightly, praying everything would turn out right as she said it aloud, pointing at her damaged side. "Episky. Mmmhmmm, that's better."
She got up and brushed off her robes, looking at her broom then Casey. He must be desperate for a ride... Would he give it back? Somehow, she didn't see Casey as the broom-stealing type, but you never know these days. "I suppose I owe you a thanks... So, thanks, for saving my firebolt."
She held out her hand lightly for him to hand it over, her face stoic with little emotion as she waited. Her wand was still at her side, it should be put away by now, but just in case there was any trouble... She loved her broom. She wanted her broom. She would kill for her broom. Could it be she was obssessed with her broom?

Casey watched the broom-obssessed person thank him and hold out her hand, holding back a smirk. Jamie saying 'thanks' to him. And to him, it seemed she was wary as to whether or not he would earn himself the name of the all-feared 'Casey Winslow the Broom Pirate' and ride off on her broom, hide it, steal some other kids broom, and generally go on some broom-pirating rampage. Hey, the firebolt was rather nicer and better than his old Nimbus 2001, but still! Piracy...appalling, wasn't it? Wasn't it?! Maybe it was before, but right now he was desperate to feel rush of the wind blowing through his hair that had finally grown out to a length he could stand. Still not as long as he preferred it like he'd had the year before, but it was growing, well on its way. But, he wasn't going to obssess over his hair. That would be retarded, not to mention scary.
Right...
Anyway, he glanced at the broom, looking it over as he thought about the pros and cons of broom piracy mentioned in the previous paragraph. Hmm...he wondered if anyone had ever gone to Azkaban for that crime. That would be a downer if he decided to go with this idea, but he realized this was his rp-er in a silly mood making him think about strange things, so he pushed it from his mind, handing Jamie her broom.
"You're welcome, and here...umm...I have a favor to ask you; it involves Quidditch...."

Jamie took the broom quickly as if thinking he would change his mind, hugging it to her side. She nodded, ready to walk away when he spoke. She turned back with an inward sigh. Favors... What did she really owe him? Oh yeah...her broom. Fine. Quidditch...not so bad unless she had to forfeit or lose a match. She would kill him if he asked for that. "Quidditch? Well, I trust you know what favor would get you killed or not. What do you want?"
She sighed as if it ailed her to stand and listen to him. She couldn't show that she was intrigued to know what he was up to. That went against all the rules Jamie had laid out for herself! She sat down on a bench near her, leaning forward with her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands. She had a feeling it had something to do with his broom. If so, that would mean defying Umbridge... Jamie smirked inwardly at the idea, but didn't get her hopes up...he was a Ravenclaw after all.

"Well, you heard how Umbridge took my broom and told me I can't play Quidditch, right? Well, I'd say that leaves your team as well as Gryffindor's and Hufflepuff's at a bit of an advantage with Ravenclaw lacking its seeker and captain, and anyway, I'd like to try to get the odds back up. Anyway, I'm wondering, would you be willing to help me get it back? I need someone to help me keep watch and such...."
This was strange, asking Jamie for help, but he had to do something. He couldn't go broomless for forever and a day anymore. It was miserable. He hated ever bit of time spent without knowing he could take a break and play Quidditch and every bit of time spent not knowing how well the team would be doing in the game and such. It was the most annoying thing in the world, and Umbridge would be paying for it. Until he got it back, it was fun to play with her head but still not the same as being able to play Quidditch.

Jamie propped up a fine-lined eyebrow as he spoke. So he wanted to break the rules? Well, maybe she shouldn't have put such low expectations on Casey. She stared at him with a smirk for a few moments before she finally replied. "Let me get this straight. You want to sneak past the toad, swipe your broom, play in front of her at a quidditch game, and spoil any chance I have of joining that stupid squad my house is siding with? Now how would that make me look..." She grinned and nodded enthusiastically. "I'm in! But this is only because the last game we had I couldn't play...things are going to be different this time. I want to feel some triumph when I snatch the snitch in front of the Ravenclaw seeker's face. When do you want to go and do this thing? Now? One of my girls are on that squad...I can swipe a schedule easily."

Casey let out a bit of a chuckle when she made her comment about wanting to feel triumph when snatching the snitch in from of the Ravenclaw seeker's face but didn't say anything at the moment, just shook his head. "We'll see about that last comment, Seams, but yes, if you could swipe a schedule, that would be absolutely wonderful. It would help the three of us immensely when it comes time for broom-snatching. And, we'll figure out how to make sure she's not already in there...maybe some nettles or some other horrid creature we're all so fond of? Casey gave a bit of a shrug. So, I guess we'll meet here again in..." he looked at his watch, "an hour? You with the schedule, me with the nettles and the 'third wheel.'"
Ok, so that hadn't come out exactly like he wanted it to. Seeing as the so-called 'third wheel' was his girlfriend and one he was contemplating marrying...well, he'd have hoped he could come up with a better term to use for her. But, as it was, he hadn't been able to, and instead of taking a million years to come up with the right term, he had decided to just say it. Now that he was thinking about it, it probably would have been better if he'd took his time to think of the word he wanted. Why? Leave it to Jamie Seams to decide to bring that up when she sees him bringing Evie and cause problems. Merlin knows they'd been having enough problems already! This year so far had brought on added stress and with his broom being taken away, he was a time bomb waiting to explode.

Jamie raised a brow, shrugged, nodded, then said. "Okay." Then she walked away. Like oh.my.freaking.God.

And like Casey walked off in search of Evie, hoping to find her so he could move on with his plan to retrieve his broom. It had been taken long enough to get Jamie. Now, if he could get Evie into it and then meet Jamie with her there and have neither girl walk off, then he was in good shape. Either way, he was getting his broom back today. He wanted to play Quidditch, for it was his first love, and he practically lived for it. He was willing to risk it all just to get the broom back.
He continued searching the grounds for Evie until he came to ______ where...
