The steaming mug on the table held down a scroll of parchment. Nora was dazing out around the room and out the window. She was dragging her quill through the air feeling the feather float as she retracted her hand. Trying to write a letter to her father explaining why she wasn't coming home was a great deal harder than she expected.
Dear father I'm not coming home because of career oppor
Dear Father, I'd like to stay in Diagon Alley for a little longer
I'm staying at the Leaky Cauldron.
Taking a sip from the carmel flavored coffee she looked out the window. A group of witches scuttled by packed together looking down. People walking in packs wasn't unusual at this time, but Nora's eyes narrowed. She didn't like seeing fear on the streets but it was as clear as day. Her eyes slipped around the room once more as she dipped her quill into the ink well and tried again.
Dear Grandfather,
I've decided to stay in London for while, things at Diagon Alley are bustling enough to keep my attention as vast as it is. I'm looking into buying a flat or something small around here but no such luck yet. I started writing this to Father but, I doubt he'll understand what I want to do...and as much as I enjoy Roderick Manor I'd like something new.
Nora heard the door swing open and she lifted the mug to her lips once more. She let the carmel fluid linger on her tongue for a moment before looking up at the new arrival. The blonde has spent the majority of time after the school was closed in Diagon Alley... occasionally straying into Muggle London to walk around. She was stalling because heading back to Ireland meant she would have to settle back into elite pureblood society. Attending parties, and be shown off like a dog for marriage, she had outlived emerald green and black gowns sipping liquor to dull the senses. She hated giving her attention to a pureblood boy who wished to make his father proud and continue his bloodline.
I'm staying here...until I find somewhere else to go. But where?
