((I blame The Good Shepherd for this bit of fluff. x.x But hey! It's better than the muse deciding to latch onto the part where Matt's dressed in drag...*would die*))It was a reunion for the class of 1989. Trevor had received an invitation in the mail a few months ago, and Anna had thought it would be a splendid idea for them to go. "Why?" Trevor had asked. "I hardly knew any of the people."
"Well, maybe Trey will be there," she had replied at which Trevor had laughed. "What's so funny?"
"Trey Hunter at a party?" Anna still had seemed not to get the joke. "I know you didn't know us in school, but honestly, Anna, I thought by my stories you'd know he was never a social person."
"Neither were you or so you say. I still find that terribly hard to believe." She had sighed, shaking her head. "Regardless if your friend will be there or not, we're going. I'd love to put some faces to names. Now, why don't you go pick up Kiley from her play date?"
Trevor had sighed. She knew how to run him. Pathetic, yet he had never seemed to mind.
---- Something hadn't been right from the moment they had stepped through the door. Kiley had been ushered over to the Easter Bunny and Anna had followed her as the men had ushered Trevor over with them to drink some brandy and discuss politics or their love life or whatever the hell these prats discussed. He was barely listening. His focus was on his young daughter sitting on the bunny's lap. She was staring over at him in a plea for help, and even he could spot the undeniable trail of urine trailing down her leg.
"Excuse me," he said distractedly as he made his way across the room just as those nearest Kiley had noticed and were helping her away to her mother. Reaching her, he kneeled down beside Anna and Kiley went to him, wrapping her tiny arms around her daddy's neck and burying her face in his chest. Trevor wrapped his arms around her, cooing softly in reassuring tones, "It's alright, sweetie. It's alright. Daddy's got you now, and he won't let anybody hurt you." He held her until the sobbing slowly came to a stop.
Then, he pulled away to look at her, but she made a sound of protest at the separation, so he simply held her a few more moments before trying again. "Why don't you let your mother clean you up?" he asked, and Anna reached her arms out for her daughter. Kiley went with an air of uncertainty, glancing back at her father who gave her a reassuring look.
---- Trevor drew in a breath loudly as he roused from his dream. Or had it been a memory? A memory, he believed. He'd been thinking about Kiley a lot lately, and it wasn't without reason. The past couple of nights he had pulled late hours at the manor exhaustively researching leads on his first daughter's whereabouts. Tonight was no different. It was one thirty a.m. on Thursday, 22 July, and Trevor was still here. No doubt there would be questions should someone discover he was here, but he would have just as many for that person.
Rubbing his eyes of sleep, the leader of the wizarding world looked wearily around his office. He needed to wake up. Perhaps he should get up and take a walk around the inside of the place. Most of the slaves, if not all, would be asleep by now in their quarters, he thought, so he doubted he had to really worry about being disturbed.
That decided, the brunet stood from the chair, gathering his papers for the desk and placing them into a heavily protected drawer. Finished, he left the room and began to wander the few steps from his office to the top of the staircase before descending the stairs and heading for the kitchens. Maybe a snack would help him, so he found himself something simple--nothing simpler than a toasted PBJ, no? He then poured himself a glass of milk and made it out to the dining room, using his wand to light a few candles before putting it away and sitting in the chair at the head of the table, taking a bite and beginning to eat.

OOC: I hope you don't mind if I cut in...
IC: One thirty a.m... Who was going to be awake at one thirty a.m.? Alexandra hadn't expected anyone to be there. This was supposed to go well. She had it all planned out, at least in her eyes. The teen still hadn't been sure what would have happened when she reached the place where spells came into play... Without a wand, there wasn't much to do other than hope she could figure a way out. Alexandra was trying to escape. Simple as that. She had only been in this dreadful place about a week, and already she wanted out. Two escape attempts already. But lucky for her, James had always stepped in at the last moment to stop any punishments from being too severe.
Alexandra had slipped from her quarters, grabbing a few essential things from a hiding place before tossing on a pair of blue jeans and a black polo. The blonde hadn't bothered with shoes, not wanting to make a sound as she hurried through the halls, trying to avoid anyone that she heard going through the halls. A bundle of cloth was clutched in one arm, her crystal ball wrapped in it, and the other arm clutched some clothing.
As she approached the dining hall, Alexandra heard someone moving around. She cursed to herself, pressing up against the wall and trying to hide in the shadows. Holding her breath for a moment, Alexandra tried to calm herself. Finally getting the breathing under control, Alexandra peered into the hall. And as soon as her eyes landed on the man there, she wanted to be back in her quarters. She drew a sharp breath. In her haste to turn around, the crystal ball slipped from her grip and rolled into the hall.
Letting out a slight curse, Alexandra tossed her other posessions into a nook, hiding them the best she could before moving in after the crystal ball. What else could she have done? Trevor would have been able to follow to where the ball came from if she had stayed still. "Excuse me." She mumbled, hurrying to the sphere and bending to pick it up.

Trevor's head immediately whipped around in the direction that he heard something drop. It was heavy by the sound of it. Seeing a young girl he didn't really recognize chase after it, he stood from his chair, set the remainders of his sandwich down, and walked over. At least she hadn't been stupid enough to try to run or hide after having dropped the thing. "Let me see it," he said as he approached her, stopping just a few feet from her with his arm extended towards her. She'd be foolish not to hand it to him, but it was her choice. He couldn't make her do it if she didn't want to. Well, he could, but why go through that trouble if he could just accio it from her should he so choose? It was much easier than struggling with another's mind.
He recognized the object she was picking up as a crystal ball, and te man tried to recall anyone within the Death Eater ranks who was a seer that she could have stolen it from. His wife had dormant seer genes in her that sometimes flared up in the form of dreams when she least expected it, but he didn't think she had a crystal ball. Besides, even if she did, she wouldn't have had it here at the manor. So, no, it had to be someone else, but who? Callid? No. Otherwise that night just over a year ago that he'd broke into his house to try to kill him would never have happened. Callid would have thwarted him from any means of entrance he could foresee. Allie? No, he didn't think any of the Harrisons had that sort of ability. McIvert? No, he didn't. Morgana? Ha! She may be a lot of things, but a seer was not one of them. Natalya? Nope. Definitely not. Ike? That was a laugh. Chase? That would explain a lot, such as his adamancy about the "fact" that Voldemort would soon return again. Eye roll.
Trevor sighed. "You weren't trying to run away, were you?" he inquired, taking out his wand and lighting it so he could see better. He had no reason to look for a knapsack. After all, slaves didn't have their own belongings. Then again, maybe she stole some food or something from them? Would make sense. He looked around the visible area of the dining hall as he asked her his question. "There's no use lying," he tacked on as he looked at her. "I can tell if you are." And it was true. He highly doubted a seventeen-year-old (or early, early twenties at the oldest to be quite generous) would know occlumency. Legilimency and occlumency weren't widely taught as the one was an invasion of privacy and without many able to use legilimency, occlumency wasn't necessary to be part of school curriculum. He could always be surprised, but ah well. He could adapt to the unexpected if he had to do so.

Alexandra felt Trevor's eyes on her for a moment as she bent to retrieve the ball. By the time she was up, the man was approaching. The teen took a step back out of instinct before mentally slapping herself. He was just a man. Albeit a terrifying, powerful man. But a man. As he requested to see the crystal ball, Alexandra placed it in his hand. What else would she do? If she refused, he would just accio it from her.
Alex expected some sort of questioning to follow. Why did she have the crystal ball? Who's was it? And she was sure that Trevor wouldn't believe the truth. The ball was hers. She used it to at least attempt to hone her seer skills. Alex was pretty sure that her brother had something up his sleeve, probably planning on trying to get her to use it to help the Death Eaters.
His question would have made her laugh under other circumstances. Of course she was trying to run away. The presense of a wand dispelled any amusement she had at the question. Wands were a bit more intimidating when you didn't have one. But at least he was only lighting it. Nothing to be worried about yet. She knew that there wasn't use in lying. His gaze sent a shiver down her spine, making her feel like he already knew that she was going to lie. But she didn't know occlumency. There had never been any reason to learn. "Running away?" The mirrored, raising an eyebrow. "Of course not. Why would I run? I'm not the biggest fan of being punished." Alexandra wasn't quite sure why she was lying. But maybe, just maybe, she could get away with it. [/size]

Almost 2 a.m. and Sienna was still awake. Big surprise there. Since being made a slave she had hardly been sleeping at all, a few hours a night at most. The little voice in the back of her mind was a lot at fault for her insomnia. ((OOC- just a figure of speech here; she's not going crazy lol)) According to her subconscious, any time now Callid would find a way to get her out of this rat-hole situation and they would finish their plans to kill Trevor. Despite her best efforts to ignore these obviously idiotic thoughts, Sienna was still sleepless, laying in bed listening to the sounds of the house and staring at the ceiling.
So when Alex stealthily (or so she thought) padded past her bed, Sienna decided to follow her. She suspected the girl was trying to make a break for it. Sienna didn't particularly care if the girl failed and got caught and punished, but figured if she succeeded there was a chance she could use the same method for her own escape. Hiding in the shadows behind Alex, Sienna watched her confrontation with Trevor.
From out of the blue, Sienna's long-lost "nurturing motherly instincts" asserted themselves. Sort of. She wasn't sure if it was the fact that the girl was just a kid, or the fact that she was an unarmed, innocent kid, but Sienna couldn't stand by and let Trevor punish the little squirt. 'Stupid little kid...Trevor'll see right through her...Then he'll punish her; she's just a kid...' Those thoughts flooding her head, Sienna stepped up behind Alex and placed her hand on the girl's shoulder and said, surprisingly sincere, "Just relax, sweetie. I'll take care of it." Facing Trevor, Sienna said coldly, "Leave her alone, Trevor. She was just coming down to get me something to settle my stomach, weren't you sweetie? Just let her go back to bed and leave her alone. She's just a kid." Sienna was confident that her training in lying competently would keep Trevor from seeing through her. That is unless he decided to use his Legillimency on her....

Trevor shook his head and looked down momentarily as the girl lied to him. But before he could say anything in return or deal with this how he had planned, which did not involve punishment at this point, Sienna had entered, and he couldn't help but chuckle at her protectiveness. This was a side of Sienna he'd never thought he would see. "You do realize that you're on a tight leash, don't you, Faber? And as such, you would do well to avoid interfering with my dealings or lying to me, for that matter? At least, if you value your life. I've been more than generous with letting you keep it after your treachery against me, which really made no sense to begin with. I mean, Warren? What did he ever do? Nothing. Nothing but use people, and you were simply one of the casualties of his string of manipulations. I pity you, but my patience with you is wearing thin. Leave now or face the consequence."
And the consequence would be death. He’d already given her so much mercy, so much leeway when his gut instinct had told him to kill her from the start. He’d put up with her for the past few months that she’d been a slave, but it was to the point that he couldn’t put up with her defiance any longer, not unless he wished to be undermined as lord of this part of the wizarding world. Truthfully, he was tired of having to consider how others might view any move he made. It was almost as bad as having to watch one’s own back, if not worse. But, he had to comply, if he wanted to maintain a following. Any sign of weakness or favor to any particular person (such as this would appear since Sienna was Natalya’s cousin) and it could all be over.
All he knew was that he hoped Sienna would leave because he wanted to deal with the younger girl. She was whom he wanted to be his priority right now, not Sienna, but Sienna’s presence simply made it impossible to give priority to the potential run-away, especially when she was trying to protect her, which annoyed Trevor, making the situation even more dangerous to Sienna’s life. If he was annoyed, he was more likely to kill her, after all, but he couldn’t force her to leave short of doing the Imperius, and he wasn’t in the mood to mess with that tonight. The Imperius was not his favorite curse on earth. It took away a person’s free will, making them into mindless drones, and that bugged him. Whatever.

Alex jumped slightly when she felt the hand on her shoulder, but went back to her semi-relaxed state as the voice that followed wasn't that of someone who was out to help Trevor. Or at least it didn't sound like that. As she listened to what else the voice had to say, Alex was sure that the person wasn't there to do her any harm. Probably just another slave who didn't want to see someone get punished for trying to be free.
She had opened her mouth to confirm the new story when Trevor spoke. The teen's mouth closed as she listened. Apparently the two knew each other... The way he talked almost reminded her of James. How letting her live but throwing her into the world of slavery was his way of being nice. Surely if he found out what Alexandra had been trying to do tonight, she would be getting the same sort of speech from him. But really, it was James' own fault that she was running. Something she had seen in the crystal ball. He was planning on selling her off to another Death Eater.
But the girl snapped herself from the daydream and back into reality when Trevor finished talking. She didn't want to be the cause of someone else getting hurt. Turning to Sienna, Alex gave her a slight smile. "I'll be fine. He'll deal with me anyway, even if I wasn't doing anything wrong. Sooner or later." She turned back to Trevor, a mix of anger and fear in her eyes. "This is between us. Not her."

"Just go Sienna; Grandfather will deal with me sooner or later anyway, "Natalya said, referring to the broken vase laying smashed on the floor that had gotten broken during one of their kiddie games.
"No, Taly. I was the one who wanted to play the stupid game. It's my fault for making you play; I'll take the punishment. Go and hide in the kitchen when Grandfather comes in...I won't let him hurt you..."
The flashback hit her and suddenly Sienna realized why she felt so protective of the girl. Alex reminded her of Natalya when they were kids. Hell she even resembled Taly. The cute little kid face, frightened attitude: yeah, the kid practically was "Baby Taly". And as much as Sienna despised her cousin for getting involved with Trevor, she realized she was still family and she still cared about her at least a little. Sighing, she continued to stare Trevor down as she said reassuringly to Alex, "Trevor and I go way back, sweetie. Believe me- just go back to bed and let me talk to him. I'll come up and talk to you when we're done." To try to help the girl along, Sienna squeezed her shoulder reassuringly and began steering her back upstairs gently before turning to face Trevor again. "Just chill out Trevor- I'm not being defiant. I know my leash is tight, believe me, I know. Just leave the kid alone. She's scared. I'll talk to her and keep an eye on her from now on." Thrusting her chin forward slightly and looking him steadily in the eye, she added, "Warren has more potential than you'll ever have. And he didn't use me. We had an equal partnership, if you can understand that concept. We both used Meyers, but not each other. So leave him out of this; you're the reason I'm a slave, not him."

"Faber, you're only making things worse for the girl. I just wish to speak with her. Now, you go. Girl, stay." Way to go with names! Not. To be frank, Trevor didn't really care about names right now. He'd get the girl's name momentarily. As he looked at Sienna, he rose his wand and pointed it at her, making it abundantly clear that should she not leave now she wouldn't receive the chance to speak. Any words out of her mouth would be silenced the instant she dared to try to speak them before she could even get out more than a word or two. He wasn't messing around, and his face said it. If she did not leave, she would find herself in so much pain she'd wish she had, and if she still refused after that? Well, let's just say, she'd be dead in a heartbeat.
There'd be no consideration for her life. She was of no use to him and was only still alive to this date because of his mercy. His gut had told him to have her killed the minute she'd been brought in, but he hadn't. He'd let her live on as a slave. Even placing her as a prisoner of war wouldn't work. Warren could too easily approach her without his knowledge. Even if he promised certain death to any of the Imperium Guards who let him in the place, he knew the little weasel would get into the place. He had a way about him, something that Trevor couldn't quite pinpoint. He hadn't bothered to figure it out. With everything going on, he simply didn't have time, and it was the least of his worries.
But, at the top of his worries at the moment was how letting Sienna get away with how she was acting would look to the other slave in the room. She would be made an example of swiftly so that any thought of running away might be driven from the girl's mind for at least a few weeks. After all, the words that might accompany his actions would be enough for the girl to catch the drift that should she try to escape again, he wouldn't be so merciful, even if the reasons he'd be torturing and/or killing Sienna were far from because she tried to run away because, certainly, the woman hadn't tried to run away.

Alex listened to the two argue, feeling herself being steered away from Trevor. She pulled away from the other woman, not wanting to be the cause of someone getting into some trouble. Alex hated it when other people tried to take responsibility for something that she had done. And it looked like Trevor was getting angrier by the minute. That couldn't be a good sign. And plus, Alexandra wasn't leaving without her crystal ball. It meant too much to her.
As Trevor called her girl, Alex bit her cheek to stop herself from bursting out and just yelling at him. But, of course, there was no reason that he would have known her name. Even if James had mentioned that his sister was here now, even if he had mentioned her name, there wouldn't have been much of a way for Trevor to have seen what she looked like. She simply crossed her arms over her chest and shot Trevor a look.
Her eyes moved once again to the other woman, who had Trevor's wand pointed at her. "Please, just go. If he thinks I did something wrong and wants to punish me, then he is going to punish me. Whether you try to stop him or not. It's something I've learned just happens." But at least Trevor had said that he just wanted to talk with her. Hopefully he wouldn't go back on his word, but Alexandra had learned not to trust Death Eaters.

Sienna continued to glare defiantly at Trevor as Alex broke away from her and told her to just go. Without looking away from Trevor, Sienna said soothingly to Alex, "Don't worry about me, sweetie. I've dealt with Trevor many times before; I can take care of myself..."
As Trevor raised his wand to threaten her, her fear of being trapped, being helpless raised its ugly head and her defiance faultered. She knew he was serious; he would kill her in a heartbeat and she knew it. He had let her live this long, and as reluctant as she was to admit it, Sienna was grateful to him. She didn't want to die, especially not at Trevor's hands. She hated his guts whether he spared her life or not, and the first chance she got she would kill him. Dropping her gaze submissively Sienna raised her hands in a gesture of defeat. "Fine, Trevor. I'll go. Just don't hurt her; she's just a kid." Turning to Alex she added softly, "I'll wait to go back to bed until you come back. Don't be afraid of him. It'll be alright." Inclining her head in as close as she would ever get to bowing to Trevor, Sienna turned and headed back to the slaves' quarters to wait for Alex, hoping Trevor wouldn't hurt her and still wondering why she cared so much...

Trevor rolled his eyes at Sienna. She was getting a little ridiculous now. "Oh, come on, Faber. Get the hell out of here." He just hoped she truly was gone now after that mock bow of her head. Otherwise, he might have to deal with a little "interruption in program" later, depending on how things went, which wouldn't go well for Faber at all. Honestly, what was with her? He supposed he could use Legilimens to read her mind, figure out what was running through it and what memories provoked such odd behavior from the former Death Eater anticipating his death and plotting with Callid Warren, but he didn't feel like bothering with it. He would just note it in his brain and plot for use should he need to keep her in check. Of course, if the slave was sold, that might be a little difficult, but he was lord of the land, and should he require a slave, the master would have to give her up no matter the reason, right? It was a no brainer.
Once Sienna was out of sight, his attention turned back to Alexandra. "Now, where were we?" he inquired, pondering the answer himself for a couple moments while keeping his blue eyes on the slave girl. "Oh right, you were lying to me, and then Faber came in and interrupted, hmm?" He rose a brow as though seeking her agreement. "You do know that lying doesn't go unpunished, right?" He paused to let his words sink in. No, he wouldn't do anything overly horrible to her. She was young still, and even if she wasn't, he wasn't like that. "What is it you dislike most?" Letting her choose her own punishment? Perhaps, but he was maintaining eye contact, obviously making sure she wasn't lying to him.
((Blah. At least it's something, right? Hopefully next post will be better.))

Alexandra was noticeably more relaxed when the woman raised her hands to show she was leaving. The teen really cared too much for her own good. She wouldn't let someone get in some sort of trouble for her own stupid actions. Really, why had she thought that trying to run away would do anything? Even if she had managed to get out of the manor itself, there was still the problem of the charms keeping her inside. One teenage slave would stand no chance against the magic concocted by a man like Trevor, would they? Alexandra smirked slightly when Sienna told her not to be afraid. "I'm not afraid of him. He's just a man." She said, though she was rather unsure of how she really felt. He was a terrifying person. She watched the older woman walk away, then wiped the smirk off of her face as she looked back to Trevor.
The string of questions that she had expected started to come, most of them more like statements. Alexandra kept her own eyes on Trevor, not wanting to show some sort of submissiveness by lowering them to the ground like most slaves. she almost considered insisting again that she wasn't lying before, but there was really no point to that. She had been lying when she said she wasn't running away. She knew that. Trevor knew that. So she continued to glare at him, clenching her jaw as he asked if she knew that lying didn't go unpunished. Of course she knew. Alexandra just hoped that Trevor wasn't really the horrible person that she thought he was.
When asked what she disliked most, Alexandra very seriously considered saying that he was the thing that she hated the most. Him and his stupid ideas about what was right and what was wrong. The man just made her angry, and a bit frightened. If the question wasn't a trick, then Alexandra was fairly sure that he was looking for a way to punish her. She stood for a few more moments, trying to figure out if this was a trick or not, then spoke up. "Well, I would have to say that the list of hate goes you, being a slave and being forced to serve Death Eaters, and then the dark." Really, there was no point in trying to lie to him again as he had seen through her first one so easily. If his form of punishment would be to lock her in a dark room or something of that sort, well, she would probably have the good twenty minutes or so of a total loss of control but then at least try and deal with it. Alexandra hoped that he was satisfied doing that and not some of the more horrid things that she had heard of being done to a slave.

Oh. Well, that was certainly unexpected for her to tell him her exact fears in order. Too bad there was no way to combine the three fears. There probably was, but Trevor didn't have the time to sit in a pitch black room with her and a random Death Eater and make her serve them, and he couldn't think of any other ways to possibly combine the three just off the top of his head. That required time to think, and he didn't feel like taking the time. He wanted this done and over with as soon as possible. So, he'd just have to go with the one that was possible to use against her to punish her. She'd lose that notion of running away rather quickly...at least for a while. He had no way of knowing just how set in her ways she was, so he had no idea when a "relapse" might just occur.
"The dark, you say?" he asked, raising a brow. "Aren't you a little old for...?" He waved off the question, indicating the fact that it was rhetorical in nature. "What about it scares you? Or, excuse me, do you 'hate' about it?" He wasn't going to ask for specifics on the others. He didn't know whether or not she simply hated him or if she actually feared him, but that was irrelevant at the moment. He hoped she feared him; she would do well to fear him. It would spare her quite a bit of torture and punishment in the future, but sometimes fear had to be learned, and his goal right now was to drill that lesson into her for good so she would never dare attempt anything again.
((About as good as the muse is going to do at the moment.))

Alexandra watched him take in her information, realizing how stupid it was to name the other two hated things. Really, what was he going to do with them? It wasn't as if she feared him or Death Eaters as much as she hated them. She shook the thought away as he spoke, then shot him a glare. Sure, it was childish to be afraid of the dark. She hadn't really had problems since she was younger, but when she had been taken into slavery, it all just came flooding back.
The next question actually made her think for a few moments. When she was younger, it had been the same reason that most kids were afraid of the dark. That there were monsters and the like lurking away in it. But Alexandra had long since found out that the things she considered monsterous didn't need to hide in the shadows. At least not since Trevor had taken over. So now, she assumed, it was most likely from the feeling of loss of control that being in the dark gave her. And a bit because she didn't know what was out there. "Listen, I'm not going to sit here and give you ways to punish me. Not that I did anything wrong."
