“Excellent,” Rufus said to the guards. That both the headmaster and his deputy were vouching for another professor was a silly question, but it proved once more that the Guard was really nothing else than a band of fools.
“Any time professor Faust.” Then he nodded to both “Professors.” And with that he turned to leave.
However, this incident had brought up a different idea. If the Guard was so jumpy and would go after anyone sneaking around outside, or better said anyone they believed to be dangerous. It posed not a problem, but rather a solution. Someone like the good professor Conleth could easily be used as decoy to distract the nosy Guard. Throw a dog a bone and he will happily go after it.
Faust was already on the headmaster's list for that. Now Conleth had been added as well and Rufus found himself wondering who else could be used. Even now the school had plenty of potential pawns within its walls. It was something worth exploring.

Aww good old Dresy! Gideon felt like tackle hugging the man. He didn't of course, and was careful to ensure his face remained neutral as he stood from his seat and held out his hand. The guard, who mouth twisted as if a rotten smell was festering, dropped Gideon's wand the outstretched hand without comment. "Goodnight Headmaster, apologizes for any inconvenience I have caused." The young man tipped his head in parting, before heading out of the room, quick on the heals of his friend.
It only took Gideon a few large strides to end up in line with Dresden. As much as he wanted to thank his friend, that probably wasn't the best idea while still in ear shot, that seemed like asking for trouble. Instead Gideon nudged his old friend, a smirk on his face which was oh so reminiscent mischief making 16 year olds they'd once been. "Fancy a night cap, old friend?"
His newly returned wand twirled absentmindedly between his fingers. He couldn't help but feel a little cocky, now that he was walking free of shackles.
